Signatures.au Quality Standards


At Signatures.au, ensuring quality for buyers is our top priority. The collectibles and assets listed on our platform are owned by sellers, and we ask them to thoroughly inspect their items, identifying any imperfections that are typical for their age and condition. While we strive to document these imperfections, not every detail may be captured in photographs, and we cannot guarantee the accuracy, quality, safety, or legality of any item listed on the platform. The details reported by the seller are included in the listing exactly as provided to us.

Roadworthy and Safety Standards

For vehicles, Signatures.au will indicate whether the seller is offering a full and complete Roadworthy Certificate (RWC) test prior to settlement of a purchase, unless otherwise specified. Buyers may request a pre-purchase inspection to ensure that the item presents as advertised and that no underlying issues are hidden. We can assist in arranging a third-party pre-purchase inspection to avoid any bias. Any disputes arising from a sale transaction must be resolved directly between the buyer and seller. While we may assist in dispute resolution, Signatures.au is not responsible for the outcome.

Please refer to relevant state authority laws, including Victorian Roadworthy rules, New South Wales RTA Roadworthy rules, and Queensland Transport Roadworthy rules.

 

What we ask Sellers to Report:


For Cars, Bikes, Boats and Caravans: 


Body Exterior


Scratches

  • All scratches that can be removed should be polished out. Scratches or plastic trim damages over 5cm should be reported. A total of 10cm of scratches or plastic trim damage on any panel is considered fair wear and tear and does not need to be reported.

Dents and chips

  • Dents over 0.5cm on any panel, or more than 3 dents on a single panel, should be reported.

Rims

  • Gutter rash over 5cm on one rim or 20cm across all rims must be reported.

Windscreen and windows

  • Any obstruction of the driver’s view or cracks over 5cm, as well as bulls-eye or star fractures over 1cm in the area wiped by the wipers, must be reported.

Interior


General damage

  • Any damage over 5cm should be repaired or reported as an imperfection. Light scuffing or marks are considered normal wear and tear.

Fittings

  • Interior fittings such as rear-view mirrors, courtesy lights, switches, sun visors, and door bins should be free from damage; otherwise, it must be reported.

Mats

  • Floor mats are not included by default unless specified.

Cleanliness

  • Vehicles should be clean, odorless, and free from burns and tears.

Electrical – unless otherwise stated, it will be assumed that


Lights

  • All lights and lamps must be fully functional.

Mirrors

  • All mirrors should be fully functional and free from cracks and distortion.

Audio

  • All audio equipment must be functional, with personal data reset to factory settings.

Wiring

  • All wiring and circuits should be properly connected and concealed.

Mechanical


RWC

  • The vehicle should meet roadworthy RWC standards across Australia and be certified by a qualified mechanic.

Tyres

  • All tyres should have a minimum tread depth that meets RWC requirements, unless otherwise specified, and be in line with the manufacturer’s specifications (though brands may differ).

Brakes

  • Brake pads and discs must meet minimum RWC requirements.

Oil

  • All oils should be checked and topped up as necessary.

For Watches: 


Condition

  • The seller should report any scratches, dents, or wear on the watch case, band, and crystal.

Functionality

  • The seller should confirm that the watch is fully functional, including timekeeping, date, and any other complications (e.g., chronograph, GMT).

Authenticity

  • The watch’s authenticity should be verified, with any documentation or certificates of authenticity included.

Service History 

  • If applicable, the seller should provide the watch’s service history.
